Marina Sarto was
born and raised in Southern California, where
she continues to reside along with her husband, three children, two cats and an American Staff named Friday. Marina's natural drawing and painting ability
was evident at an early age where she amazed her teachers in grade school with
her natural ability to draw and paint.
While attending
high school Marina turned her attention to more academic
pursuits and became interested in science and biology; but still kept active in
the arts and completed several paintings as part of her fine arts requirement.
Impressed with her talent all 4 of the paintings were purchased by teachers in
the school which they proudly hung in their homes. Her talent recognized,
Marina was
awarded an art scholarship to Art Center of Design. Hoping to pursue a career in medicine, she turned down a scholarship to pursue a career in healthcare; but
all the time she never lost her artistic spark.
In 2003, illness
forced an end to her career and allowed her to reconnect with her natural
artistic talents and spend more time creating the beautiful paintings which she
loves so dearly. A member of the California Art Club of Pasadena and a student of Karl Dempwolfe, Marina looks forward to honing her skills and
continuing to produce work that truly amazes the eye and soothes the soul.
